Katy Summerfield

Katy is an FCA qualified chartered accountant, with over 20 years’ experience working in forensic accounting.

Having undertaken a variety of civil litigation work throughout her career, Katy has focused on quantifying earnings and pension losses, arising in personal injury, employer’s liability, and clinical negligence cases.

Katy has worked on thousands of cases to assist solicitors to accurately quantify these heads of Special Damages. Katy has a wealth of experience dealing with losses arising in both the Public and Private sector, including Military, NHS, and Police, and those working on a self-employed basis or trading through limited companies.

Katy is very experienced in quantifying complex and high value losses including fatal accident cases and ‘lost years’ claims for those suffering from shortened life expectancies, for example, mesothelioma, delayed diagnoses, and catastrophic injuries. Katy can prepare Expert Reports, attend Conferences with Counsel, prepare Joint Statements and is available to give expert evidence in Court if required.

Katy also works alongside Beverley, who heads up the Crime & Fraud Team at C Lewis and is happy to accept instruction in this regard, alongside her personal injury work.
