Loss of Earnings and Pension

We can assess lost earnings for both employed and self-employed individuals, with an option to consider multiple scenarios if required.

Loss of Dependency and Lost Years Claims

In fatal accident cases we can accurately calculate the value of the loss of dependency on earnings and pensions attributable to the dependents. We appreciate that such cases are complicated and delicate. Our team of Experts can assist in dealing with the highly complex quantum elements in dependency claims.

If a living Claimant’s life expectancy has been curtailed because of an accident or negligence (for example, mesothelioma), then the earnings and pension they would have received in those years can be calculated, minus a deduction for living expenses.

Recent Cases

A recent instruction from a Defendant solicitor was to consider the loss of earnings and pension presented within the Claimant’s Schedule of Loss, which was valued within a seven-figure range, for an MOD employee injured in an RTA.

Whilst the Claimant’s solicitor had instructed their own Pension Loss Expert, there were still various significant and material errors in both the earnings and pension losses presented. The claim settled for a significantly lower amount than that claimed.

We consider that material errors leading to overstating or understating a claim is unfair on the Claimant and our aim is to instill confidence in solicitors that utilising our services produces a thorough and accurate quantification for this head of loss.
